Product Description

Carbon steel plate can also be called plain carbon steel or carbon steel, in addition to carbon, it contains a small amount of silicon, mananese, sulfur, phosphorus and other elements, the higher the carbon content, the better the hardness and stength, but the worse the plasticity. 

With carbon content from about 0.05% ~ 2.1% by weight, it is divided into four classes based on carbon content


Low carbon steel: 0.05 to 0.25% carbon content around .

Medium carbon steel: 0.3-0.5% carbon content around with balanced ductility and strength and good wear resistance.

High carbon steel:0.6 to 1.0% carbon content around, and it is very strong, used for springs, edged tools, and high-strength wires.

Ultra-high carbon steel: 1.25-2.0% carbon content around, and it can be tempered to great hardness.

Introduction Carbon structural steel plate refers to carbon steel with less than 0.8% carbon. This kind of steel contains less sulfur, phosphorus and non-metallic inclusions than carbon structural steel, and has better mechanical properties. Carbon structural steel can be divided into three categories according to different carbon content: low carbon steel (C≤0.25%), medium carbon steel (C is 0.25-0.6%) and high carbon steel (C>0.6%).
